The perennial concept Wild & Indigenous of Griffioen Wassenaar B.V. from Boskoop has been declared Best Market Introduction PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt 2022. The jury was unanimous about the Wild & Native concept that responds to a current need and where everything is right. “It is a beautiful assortment of wild and native plants, the way the plants are grown (PlanetProof), the plants are in pots made of recycled plastic and also the labels are recyclable. The plants contribute to biodiversity, it is translatable to any region, the sustainability aspect and the story match reality,” the jury said.

Phlox ‘Olympus’ (Paniculata Group) has been named best KVBC Novelty PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt 2022. The plant was submitted by Rijnbeek and Son Perennials BV of Boskoop and Compass Plants BV of Hillegom. “Phlox ‘Olympus’ has strikingly variegated leaves and red young shoots. This Phlox is an innovation in the assortment, especially in combination with the purple flowers, and can be used in the private garden and in public green spaces. The plants are healthy and well presented”, according to the KVBC jury.

Clematis 'Z018179'

Clematis ‘Z018179′ (PROUD MARY) of J. van Zoest BV from Boskoop is the Visitors’ Favourite of PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt 2022. At the end of the fair, it was clear that this Clematis had received the most votes from the visitors. Clematis ‘Zo18179’ (PROUD MARY) flowers very rich and compact on both old and fresh wood. The flowers are 8 to 10 cm in diameter and the plant grows to a height of about 150 cm. The flower colour is light purple with a purple-red centre. A special feature is that the plant flowers from the bottom up. The plant is available from September for garden centres and traders in a 2 litre rose pot with a 90 cm bamboo stick.
