Lophomyrtus ralphii 'Luc2016' (GOLDEN DRAGON) is an evergreen shrub with bright, variegated leaves in shades of lime green, golden yellow and a hint of orange. In the fall, the leaves take on a striking pink edge. The leaves contrast beautifully with the dark red stems. Golden Dragon is bushy and branches well. After 3 years the plant is about 50-60 cm high and wide. Golden Dragon is very suitable for a pot on terrace or balcony, but also for the shrub border, landscaping or a low hedge. Hardy to -5 ºC. Golden Dragon prefers a spot in the sun or semi-shade in a well-drained, fertile soil. The plant is protected by plant breeders' legislation and bred by Fa. Lucassen Boomkwekerij from Vorden. Fa. Lucassen also sells the plant. Management is through Plantipp BV from IJsselstein who also submitted the plant for the novelty showcase.
