Rhododendron ‘Maximus’ wins Green Retail Award for Visitor’s Favorite

Leybaert’s Rhododendron ‘Maximus’ was voted Visitor’s Favorite by trade visitors at the Spring Edition 2025 of PLANTARIUM|GROEN-Direkt, winning the Green Retail Award. Although the plant has only just started flowering, trade visitors immediately recognized the special characteristics of this new product: naturally compact, huge flower buds that will soon reveal fiery red flowers, and also extra hardy and disease resistant. A true PWR Plant (“Power Plant”), as the submitter calls it.

For Silas Crezée, this award is above all a wonderful recognition for 12 years of investment in the breeding program: “This is entirely our own work. And after 12 years, this novelty is finally ready for the market. It is now available in a 2-liter jar. And a little scoop: soon we will also launch a purple, pink and white variety on the market!”
