The beautiful and sophisticated magnolia opens its flowers in a soft, honey-yellow colour and gradually changes to a creamy hue with a subtle, velvety texture, giving it the name ‘Fairy Honey Velvet’. The fragrant flowers have a subtle scent. This magnolia has a nice, compact growth habit and reaches a height of about 1.5 metres, making it perfect for smaller gardens and terraces. The rich flowering starts in early spring when there are no leaves on the tree yet. This creates a beautiful contrast with the dark branches.
‘Fairy Honey Velvet’ thrives best in well-drained, fertile soil and needs a sunny to semi-shaded position. It can withstand cold well, although in harsh winters it is advisable to give the young plant some protection.
