The Skimmia Gold Series® offers a diversity of color and leaf shape. The breeding focus was on the color of the flower buds. The flower buds of Skimmia Gold Series® come in varying colors and retain their color much longer. The Gold Series® produces white flowers in April-May. Skimmiakwekerij Bolwijn B.V. from IJsselmuiden now presents Skimmia Gold Series® on a stem, approximately 60 cm tall. This is an extremely exclusive niche product that represents the pinnacle of what is achievable in terms of cultivation. Bolwijn has developed the rootstock themselves and grafted it with a beautiful Skimmia assortment obtained through their own breeding efforts. All varieties bear both flowers and berries. The following cultivars are currently available: Skimmia japonica ILLUSION, Skimmia japonica DESIRE, Skimmia japonica OBSESSION, and Skimmia japonica MIRACLE. The plants are of top quality, presented uniformly, and come with a large label featuring gold foil. They are grown in a mix of peat, bark, and perlite, in pots that are traceable and fully recyclable (with certification). These Skimmia plants have a low susceptibility to diseases and pests and are cultivated using integrated pest management.
