Picea glauca 'Kolschomachris' (MAGICAL CHRISTMAS) is a fast-growing miniature Christmas tree that is not only practical but also strikingly decorative. The needles twist gracefully around the branches, giving the tree a playful and festive appearance—ideal for the December season.
Thanks to its sturdy branches, MAGICAL CHRISTMAS is easy to decorate with minimal risk of breakage. Its rapid growth also significantly shortens the cultivation period, making this spruce an attractive option for growers and, by extension, for retailers. After the holidays, the tree doesn’t need to be discarded—it can simply be planted in the garden, where it will grow into a compact, well-shaped tree of up to 150 cm tall.
This compact spruce originated from a mutant and was selected by D. Scholten in Boskoop and marketed by Kolster BV in collaboration with P.C.J. Stolk & Zonen and Vromans Kwekerijen. Plant breeders' rights are pending.
