Pennisetum advena 'TUS022' (TINY TAILS) is a compact and elegant newcomer in the ornamental grass category. This mutation, bred by Tuszyńscy Gospodarstwo Ogrodnicze in Poland, stands out with its striking dark red foliage, beautifully contrasted by soft, fluffy flower plumes that appear from summer through autumn.
Thanks to its naturally mounded growth habit, TINY TAILS is highly versatile. It fits perfectly in modern gardens, prairie plantings, rock gardens, urban green spaces, and large-scale landscape designs. It also works well as a ground cover or in pots and containers, offering a decorative and calming appearance. In addition, it is low-maintenance, drought-tolerant, and well-suited to various growing conditions.
Pennisetum TINY TAILS is protected by plant breeder’s rights and will be commercially available from 2025 through Hoogeveen Plants B.V. and F.N. Kempen vof. They sumbmitted the plant for novelty evaluation together. Plantipp B.V. is managing this new variety.
