Nepeta sibirica ‘Donepserwior’ (SERENE WILD ORCHID)

Nepeta sibirica 'Donepserwior' (SERENE WILD ORCHID) – a surprising Nepeta with orchid-like blooms
Nepeta sibirica 'Donepserwior' (SERENE WILD ORCHID) is a striking and unexpected novelty within the Nepeta genus, introduced by Dümmen Orange. This seedling immediately catches the eye with its unique floral display: elegant, bright pink flowers delicately speckled with tiny pink dots – an orchid-like look rarely seen in this species.
The flowering is not only visually appealing but also ecologically valuable: bees, bumblebees and butterflies are drawn in large numbers, making SERENE WILD ORCHID a strong contributor to biodiversity in the garden or on balconies. It flowers abundantly and continuously from early summer into autumn, all while maintaining a compact, tidy, and sturdy growth habit.
Its dark foliage is disease-resistant and remains healthy throughout the season. The plant is drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and easy to combine in both garden beds and containers.
Bred by Dümmen Orange B.V. in De Kwakel (NL), the variety will be introduced to the market in spring 2026 via Flevoflora, Florizon, and Kees Preesman. Plant breeders’ rights have been applied for.
