Hydrangea quercifolia 'Biv01' (TARA) is a new oakleaf hydrangea from the USA, featuring exceptionally large, white flower plumes. Its leaves are resistant to burning, maintaining their health and displaying a fresh appearance. The foliage also boasts a fantastic autumn coloration and remains on the plant for an extended period. The most significant distinction from existing oakleaf hydrangeas is the presence of large, beautiful, full, double flowers. Joh. Stolwijk & Zonen Boomkwekerijen B.V. from Boskoop submitted this new cultivar for evaluation and will introduce it to the market. The variety will be available starting from September 2023 in a p9/C1 size for propagation and as a 5-liter container for retail. This Hydrangea is highly winter-hardy and exhibits good drought resistance. The license is held by Plantipp from IJsselstein, with Tara Bivin from PDSI in the USA as the breeder. TARA is protected under plant breeder's rights.
