Cercis griffithii ‘Rafmar1 PBR’ (BLUE LAGOON) is a striking new introduction for garden centres and the landscaping market. Selected from a seedling and bred by Raf Lenaerts, this cultivar stands out for its distinctive blue-grey, heart-shaped foliage reminiscent of eucalyptus leaves. The dark red young shoots add colour throughout the growing season, while pink flowers in spring create an attractive contrast.
The combination of its unique foliage colour, elegant spring flowering and low-maintenance nature makes BLUE LAGOON a valuable addition to the existing assortment. Its contemporary appearance makes it suitable for a wide range of applications in gardens and public green spaces.
Cercis griffithii ‘Rafmar1 PBR’ (BLUE LAGOON) is protected by Plant Breeders' Rights (PBR), will be available from summer 2026, and is marketed by Joh. Stolwijk en Zonen Boomkwekerijen B.V.
