Abelia grandiflora ‘Keyval2501’ (SWIRLY BELLS™)

Abelia grandiflora 'Keyval2501' (SWIRLY BELLS™) – variegated foliage, colourful shoots, and bell-shaped blooms
SWIRLY BELLS™ is a compact, semi-evergreen Abelia that stands out with its vibrant contrasts and extended flowering season. The dark green leaves with white to silvery margins give the plant a fresh, variegated look, while the continuously emerging orange-red young shoots add even more colour.
From late summer into autumn, it blooms profusely with large, bell-shaped flowers in a vivid pink-purple shade – a striking combination with the ornamental foliage. Thanks to its compact growth habit, this new variety is ideal for borders, small gardens or as a decorative feature in containers.
This cultivar originated as a mutant and was selected by Klemens Keysers from Kevelaer, Germany. Commercial introduction is scheduled for 2025. Plant breeder’s rights have been applied for.
