Cercis canadensis 'JN100' (Hearts A'Fire™) is a deciduous large shrub to small (multi-stemmed) tree that offers something special in every season. This compact ornamental tree is praised for its striking structure and spectacular display of colour in both flower and foliage. In early spring, small clusters of dark pink, pea-like flowers appear directly on the bare wood – a truly enchanting sight. Shortly after, a vibrant mix of large, heart-shaped leaves unfolds, in fiery shades ranging from burgundy red to mandarin orange, combined with deep green. These colours hold well throughout the summer.
These persistent leaf colors clearly set Hearts A’Fire™ apart within the Cercis range. This mutant was selected by Garden Debut from the United States and is protected by plant breeder’s rights.
Wm. J. Hooftman bv will introduce this exceptional tree to the market from August 2025 and has submitted it for novelty evaluation.
