Yucca 'French Flag' is a striking interspecific hybrid between Yucca filamentosa and Yucca rostrata. It stands out for its silver-blue, long and narrow leaves, which form an elegant, compact rosette. Thanks to its softer leaf texture, this selection is more user-friendly than Yucca rostrata, while retaining the ornamental appeal of its parent.
In late spring, tall flower spikes emerge above the foliage, carrying attractive ivory-white blooms that create a striking contrast with the silver-blue leaves. Hardy to approximately −23 °C, Yucca 'French Flag' is a valuable addition to the consumer market and is well suited to a wide range of garden applications.
Raised from a seedling by Amélie Jeckert, this cultivar is protected by plant breeders’ rights and will be commercially available from autumn 2026/spring 2027 through Van Son & Koot bv, Hoogeveen Plants and Plantipp.
